iPhone: fall sales in the UK, rising those of Swisscom

Sales of iPhone in the UK have fallen in recent weeks. The British carrier O2 claims to have sold between 18,000 and 20,000 units per week, less than average level of about 27,000 units (for some weeks with peaks up to 50,000). The reason for the decline is uncertain, but could be attributed to T-Mobile G1-based Android and BlackBerry Storm, both anticipated and soon spread across the country.

Moreover, sources have discredited the news that O2 saw increased sales of operating a prepaid iPhone cut the list price: £ 50 in less before Christmas, lowering the selling price to £ 299 (€ 369.30 per The 8Gb model).

In trend against the Swiss company Swisscom has announced that iPhone has produced a 44% growth in new subscriptions last fiscal quarter, when compared with the other 2 previous quarters of that year. The company claims to have sold about 100,000 iPhone in two and a half months, and that this has not only increased the earnings but also investment for the future.
